Q:
Explain your program's philosophy.
A: In brief, we guarantee the following things for each and every player
and team:
- Instill
sound fundamentals
- Increase
opportunity and exposure
- Low
athlete to coach ratio
- Create
an environment for females to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually
- Aid
the state high school programs
Q: What is the cost for participation?
A: The direct cost for participation in our program fluctuates for each
age group. This fee covers each player's
team membership, tournament registration costs, equipment, gym
rental, coaching stipend, etc. All costs associated with travel -- uniforms, housing,
food, gas, etc, -- are NOT covered by the fee listed above. Uniforms will be $140 for a home and away set. In 2010, the costs
for each age group are:
- 11U Teams = $500
- 12U Teams = $600
- 13U, 14U, 15U, & 16U Teams = $700
- 17U Team = $900
- Open Teams = $500
Q:
How do I register?
A:
All registration information is located here. Any questions may be directed to Joe Russom.
Q:
When is the registration fee due?
A: A $100 deposit is due on January 15, 2010. The remaining program fees are due by February 15, 2010. However, arrangements may be made with the director of the Fox Valley Hustle Girls Basketball Club. Refunds will only be given if a suitable replacement can be found. The refund does not include the $100 deposit which will be not be refunded.
Q: Will the program accept donations or
sponsors?
A: Yes, we are always looking for donations or sponsorships to help defray
the cost associated with the club. The Fox Valley Hustle is a nonprofit
organization and seeks to help those who are in financial need. The ability
to pay should NOT prevent a player from participating. All money
received through donations/sponsors will be used to benefit the entire
program, not a particular player.
Q: How many games/tournaments will each
team play?
A: Our teams will play approximately six tournaments throughout the
four month season that runs from April 1 - July 31. Three to four of these
events for our 14, 15, and 16U teams are "D1/D2 Observation"
events. Each tournament consists of 3 to 7 games. All schedules are set
by the program director.

Q: What tournaments are the teams scheduled
for in 20010
A: Below is a list of tournaments that our teams will participate in:
- Battle for the Dimes - Appleton, WI
- Nike Summer Showcase - Chicago, IL
- North
Tartan Meltdown - Bloomington, MN
- Pepsi Cup - DePere, WI
- Windy City Classic - Chicago, IL
Q: What about playing time -- is there a
guarantee?
A: All of teams will be built to compete. The Fox Valley Hustle program
does NOT guarantee equal playing time. Playing time is at the sole discretion
of the coach. Our primary focus is to put the players on the floor that
give us the best opportunity to win at all times.
Q: When and where are practices?
A: Practice will be primarily on Sundays; however, we may also have a
practice during the week prior to a tournament. All practices will be
2 - 2 1/2 hours in length. In addition, we offer 2-3 skill sessions per week. These skill sessions are not mandatory, but are highly recommended. The focus during the skill sessions is fundamental skills development. During the season, practices and skill sessions will begin held
in Greenville Middle School and Appleton North High School.
Q:
How many players do you suit up per team?
A: Each team will carry a minimum of eight players. NO team will have
more than eleven players though. We want to emphasize a low player to
coach ratio and give as much instruction as possible.
Q:
Who coaches our teams?
A: All of our coaches are experienced high school coaches, former college
players, or former college coaches. Each team will be designated one head
coach. We will ask one parent from each team to volunteer as a manager
to take stats, contact players/parents, etc. |
